Life hacking #1 - geek method of recognizing left and right sides

Hello everyone,

A lot of people have problems with recognizing left and right sides. This could lead to serious problems like driving a car in wrong way and ending with crashed car because one had driven into one way street from the other end ;) These problems aren't always as dangerous, but very often are reason of a little of pain in the ass for example:
Me: "click icon on the left to open 'My Computer'"
Second person: [is searching on the right side with the cursor]
Me: [my reaction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HY-03vYYAjA ]

Come on, it's simple to recognize the sides correctly! I've learned it as a 5 year old boy with use of Amiga 500 mouse ;) and it's true.

It was EXTREMELY  important to recognize sides in games, because left mouse button was responsible for one set of actions, while right mouse button for the other set of actions. So with that knowledge I've always recalled on which side is left button and binded it with left hand (the same story with right hand).

This is really working and if you (or your kids) have problems with this, feel free to check it out :)

A little legend:

Edit: I've decided to put picture of hero of this story, the old, the good Amiga 500 Mouse

  1. Oh man, thank you so much. I really needed the rundown on which side was which :) (not really, but clearly some people still don't get their directions)

  2. Haha, a trick I used to use was to pretend to hold a pencil, that would always be my right hand :)

  23. LoL, my ex gf determined her left from her right by putting both hands in front of her with her thumbs pointed at each other and which ever hand makes an "L" shape is your Left hand (your right hand makes a backwards L)... Interesting method but not time-efficient At All... Your method is much quicker haha

  24. I am pretty sure that this method was very succesful for me. A lot of my friends are mistaking the sides very often, while I don't remember when I've done such a mistake for a last time.

  26. ive remember my left and rights since i was a kid, i was forced to remember which way was left and right because my dad and i were skiing and i had to go the right way off the skilift or i would fall and get hurt so i learned really quick and nowadays left and right i can always visualize the top of a skilift
